About

Writing, minus the noise.

Most writing tools keep growing — more toolbars, more panels, more things asking for your attention. Minimal Writer goes the other way. It’s a quiet, paper-like canvas built around a single idea: the text comes first.

Offline-first, always yours

Every sentence is written to your own device before it goes anywhere else, and sync follows second. The app keeps working when the network doesn’t, and Markdown export is never locked — getting your own words out is a promise, not a feature.

Just enough interface

Writing modes — Document, Paragraph, Sentence and Markdown — let you dial in how much of the page stays lit around the caret. The Structure panel lets you restructure long pieces by dragging sections around. Autosave runs quietly in the background. That’s about it, and that’s the point.

Made for focus

A warm background, a calm serif, and generous space. Dark mode and fullscreen for late nights. Installable as a PWA so it opens like a native app. Everything in service of one thing: getting the words down.
